How to Wear Your Square Scarf
I love to make naturally dyed scarves for you, whether silk, cotton or velvet and in all sorts of lengths and sizes. They are such a lovely way to wear a bit of nature and connect with the beautiful plants and flowers. One of my definite favourites is the square scarf, sometimes known as a ‘bandana” scarf or neckerchief.
But one of the things I’m often asked is ‘it’s very beautiful, but how do I wear it?’
So, I thought I’d share with you some different fun, funky and glamorous ideas of how to wear that scarf!
Classic Cowgirl
The most simple. Fold in half into a triangle and tie at the back. You get to see a lot of the patterns on the scarf this way too.
Relaxed Vibe
The side knot with the tails on show gives a really relaxed boho outdoorsy look and is quick and easy. My personal favourite!
Choker Style
A slightly smarter look. Fold the scarf into a narrow strip using the long diagonal length.
Really lovely for the evening instead of a necklace.
In an Up Do
These square scarves are really great to wear in your hair- especially the silk ones which really help maintain your hairs’ texture. Use it to wrap around your head after you’ve put your hair up to heep in all those stray hairs! Give it a twist in the middle if you like.
Gypsy Style
I love this look - you really get to appreciate the beauty of the scarf. Fold it in half into a triangle and tie it at the back at the nape of your neck. Works great for long and short hair and allow as much to escape as you want.
In a Pony
Easy and cute. Simply tie it around your ponytail or on the end of your plait.
Accessorise a bag or hat
So you don’t feel like wearing your scarf? How about using it to glam up a bag, or tie it around the rim of your hat? A great way to show off your gorgeous naturally dyed scarf.
